This policy explains how the website uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. In short: we use only what the site needs to work and to remember your light or dark display choice. There are no advertising, tracking or optional analytics cookies.
1. Who operates this website
This cookie policy is issued by Dr Elena Carruba, trading as Change Academy, for the website https://elena-carruba.vercel.app and its Change Academy, Euno, Praxis & Nexus and Hey Girl sections. 2. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, SDKs and other methods that store or read information on a device. They can keep you signed in, remember settings, complete secure payments, measure how a website is used or enable embedded media. Some are set by us; others may be set by providers whose tools we use.
3. What this website uses
Strictly necessary
A sign-in cookie is set only if you sign in as a Hey Girl Insider member or as the site's editor, to keep you signed in. Strictly necessary technologies do not need consent, and we limit them to that purpose.
Preferences and appearance
If you switch the site between light and dark, your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage. This falls under the UK exception for remembering how a website looks. To object, simply switch it back, or clear this site's storage in your browser settings; nothing is lost.
Analytics and performance
We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify you or follow you across other websites.
Marketing and advertising
We use none: no advertising pixels, personalised marketing trackers or cross-site profiling tools.
Third-party media and payments
Self-hosted videos on our site set nothing. YouTube videos are shown as a preview image (served from YouTube's image servers, without cookies) and the player loads only when you press play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Once a video plays, YouTube's own policies apply. Payments and card registrations take place on Stripe's own checkout pages (checkout.stripe.com), not on our pages; Stripe sets its own cookies there for security and fraud prevention, under Stripe's cookie policy.

The site editor's admin area also uses local storage for editing drafts and Elena's own settings. That area is only for the site's editor, and nothing from it is set on visitors' devices.
5. Your choices
Because the site uses no optional cookies, it does not show a cookie banner. If we ever introduce optional analytics or marketing tools, we will add a consent banner and a "Cookie settings" link before they run, so you can accept, reject or manage them, and we will update this policy.
You can also delete or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking the sign-in cookie means members and the editor cannot stay signed in; the rest of the site works normally.
6. Payment and booking
When you pay, register a card for a free consultation or manage a subscription, you are taken to Stripe's secure pages, where Stripe may use technologies for fraud detection, payment security and functional processing. Booking itself happens on our own site and sets no cookies. We never see or store full card numbers.
7. External websites and international providers
Links to bookshops, YouTube, social networks or other external sites are governed by those providers' own policies once you leave our website. Some providers may process technical information in other countries; our privacy policy explains the safeguards.
8. Updates and contact
We will review this policy whenever our website technology changes, including if we add analytics, video embeds, membership tools or advertising functions.
